Built as a winter retreat in 1948 and reimagined in 1961 by acclaimed Palm Springs interior designer Arthur Elrod, this Old Las Palmas home is private and peaceful, but within walking distance to restaurants and shops in the Uptown Design District and downtown.

Offering 4 beds, 4 baths, generous open living space, a salt-water pool and spa, this home still retains Elrod’s restrained elegant design, and is everything you need for your stay in Palm Springs.

The living room with open-beamed ceiling features multiple seating areas, a smart TV, and fireplace. A clever walnut bookcase separates an adjacent area offering a table for playing cards or games. The dining area, open to the living room, seats eight. There’s even a small desk in case you need to get some work done. A wall of glass and sliders look out to the pool & lawn and has the quintessential Palm Springs mountain view!

The expansive covered patio off the living area has a BBQ grill, outdoor dining table and lounge seating. The huge salt-water pool and spa face south, giving you sun all day long, and offering you the best spot to enjoy the breathtaking mountain views.

Back inside, the large kitchen is an incredible homage to mid-century design, complete with St. Charles ‘desert beige’ metal cabinets, but has been updated to offer you all the conveniences you need. You’ll find newer appliances, a 6-burner range with griddle, tons of counter-space, warming drawers, wine fridge, and multiple sinks.

In the guest wing, the separate den/media room is a perfect spot to unwind with a book or watch tv on the large Smart TV.

The large primary bedroom offers a king bed, a couch, and smart TV. A slider provides gorgeous views of and direct access to the pool and spa. The en-suite bath features a large vanity with period finishes, shower, and separate tub. You’ll also find a large dressing area and a huge walk-in closet (with its own AC!).

The second bedroom is just down the hall and features a queen bed and small desk. The hall guest bath includes a tiled tub/shower combo and fun mid-century detail. The third bedroom is just off the kitchen and features a queen bed. This bedroom has an en-suite with walk-in shower and is across the house from the other bedrooms, offering a nice separation for privacy.

For the ultimate in comfort and privacy, walk out the back door and across a lovely private courtyard and you’ll find the attached casita. This bedroom features a king bed, loveseat, Smart TV, beverage fridge and en-suite with walk-in shower. This is the perfect location for your weekend guests while in residence for Season.

Via Las Palmas is part of Palm Springs history. You will love making it part of yours!

RULES AND THINGS TO NOTE:
**Pool and spa heat are optional for $30-$60 per day. This fee is not included in the quoted price on some booking platforms and, if not, will be collected after you book.
**Minimum age for every guest is 25 unless accompanied by a parent. No groups larger than 8 (regardless of age) and no parties.
**Palm Springs has strict noise, occupancy, and parking rules, INCLUDING THAT NO MUSIC IS ALLOWED OUTSIDE AT ANY TIME. Violation of these rules will result in a $1000 fine and immediate eviction from the house with no refund.
**This house requires both a $1500 refundable damage deposit and the purchase of additional damage insurance for $99. These fees are not included in the quoted price on some booking platforms and, if not, will be collected after you book.
**On rentals of 28-nights or more renter is responsible for the entire gas and electric bill from check-in to check-out based on meter reads. A $2500 utility deposit will be collected after booking and will be applied to these bills. Any remaining balance will be refunded to you.
**The City of Palm Springs requires an additional written contract which you must sign after you book and requires that you send us a copy of your ID before you check in.
**This house is not pet-friendly. NO ANIMALS ALLOWED

Eight of us (four couples) stayed here and had a great vacation. With four large bedrooms and four large bathrooms the place easily accommodated the eight of us. Loved the pool and hot tub as well. Quite close to great dining and downtown. Couldn’t recommend the place highly enough!

Our family enjoyed a relaxing stay in this well-kept, architecturally interesting, well-appointed home. The neighborhood is beautiful, and the location very convenient. We loved being able to have every meal outside on the covered patio, and appreciated the pool every day.

This is one of the most stunning homes we have ever rented. It’s hard to believe the beautiful pictures are real, but they are - the mountains and palm trees in the background while swimming or dining outdoors are simply breathtaking. The interior is beautifully maintained and wonderfully representative of the Palm Springs mid-century style (the kitchen is highly functional while a total throwback in time). I can’t say enough kind words about the Altamira staff - they were thorough, communicative, humorous, and all around lovely. Highly recommend this property and property manager.

This is an absolutely stunning property managed by a top notch rental agency. Everything about our experience was perfection. And the home is as gorgeous as the photos...which is not always the case. But with this one, it’s even better in real life. We traveled with our 3 kids and my parents. The addition of the separate “casita” suite with a king bed and bath makes for an amazing set up for grandparents to escape the noise of the main house when needed. Highly recommend for multi-generational trips (with kids old enough to respect the beautiful furniture!!).
